Conservation Talk from The Toronto Zoo’s Learning and Engagement Team The wildlife conservation presentation focuses on a deepening understanding of what biodiversity is and the importance of it. We then discuss the various reasons for its decline worldwide. Following this we review the various areas for the Zoo that are important to ensuring many of the world’s most vulnerable species and their habitats. After taking a closer look at some of Canada’s most endangered species that the Toronto Zoo is assisting with, students will develop a deeper understanding of the science behind managing endangered wildlife populations through reproductive programs and the species survival plan. |
